The witness was driving south at night when an animal on all fours ran across the road from left to right, passing very close to the front of the car. The witness saw it only briefly and described it as hairy and brown with very thick hind legs. The companion in the passenger seat did not see the animal.
Daybreak sighting by fishermen driving to a tournament near Phillips
Two companions driving early in the morning saw a tall black creature crouched in the middle of a rural road about 70 yards ahead. The animal turned its head toward the vehicle, then ran quickly into the surrounding woods on its hind legs with its back leaning forward. The witnesses noted an ape-like, broad-chested appearance unlike a bear and found it had vanished when they drove past.

The witness camped alone for several nights using a thermal imager. On the fourth night an object was thrown near the tent, then a heat signature was seen peeking over brush along a trail. The figure stood and ran away bipedally while brush thrashed on both sides, and the witness left the thermal recording overnight.
Family hears vocalizations and finds footprints near Park Falls
Late at night the witness was on the deck and repeatedly heard a loud growling-screaming sound moving from a field across the road to a field behind the house, but saw nothing in the moonlight. The next evening the witness and a companion searched with a spotlight and reported finding large bipedal footprints with a long stride. The tracks were photographed the following day after warm weather had largely melted them, and the photos were later judged too indistinct to include.

The witness claims that while hiking alone in cedar swampland, a hair-covered creature followed and watched him for over an hour, moving only when he moved and mimicking his crouching actions. The witness says he observed it in partial views from shadows, including its eyes and part of its face from about 30 yards behind an uprooted tree. The creature eventually disappeared near a clear-cut area after the witness waited an hour without it reappearing.

During deer season in November 2002, the witness was walking a road near Phillips looking for deer when he saw an upright figure coming toward him. He first thought it was a black bear but, viewing it through a rifle scope from about 200 yards, concluded it was man-like and not a bear or human. When the witness crouched, the figure stopped then ran on two legs into an alder swamp, leaping over water and moving quickly through difficult bog ground.

Two people driving in early afternoon saw a tall, hairy figure cross the highway in a few long strides and continue down an embankment, disappearing within seconds. The figure was described as very large, muscular and brown-haired with long arms, moving with a smooth gliding jog. After stopping to look for tracks without success, they reported the sighting to patrons at a nearby tavern who did not believe them.

The witness was hunting deer from a tree stand in the afternoon when a dark figure was seen walking along a distant ridge, visible from the waist up. The figure moved with a long stride and high, marching-like arm swings with open hands, then disappeared behind bushes. The witness then heard loud branch-breaking sounds followed by quiet, became uneasy, and left the area.
