The driver and a passenger were driving on a rural highway late at night when headlights illuminated a very large upright bipedal figure near the road edge. The figure turned and moved quickly into the woods on two feet. The driver stopped, and both occupants agreed on its unusually large size and human-like movement, dismissing a bear as an explanation.

In the early afternoon on January 16, 2026, the witness and a companion were traveling west toward Lake City when the companion alerted the witness to something beside the road. Both reportedly saw a roughly six-foot-tall black-haired biped quickly cross the road left to right in a few steps. It then went down a sharp embankment into a swampy pine thicket near a bridge over the river.

The witness was lying in bed and looked up through a gap above the air conditioner in the bedroom window. In the yard light glow they saw a large dark head with a black face looking down at them. The head stared for several seconds, turned away briefly as if distracted, then looked back. Frightened, the witness turned away, asked it to leave, and did not look back.

The figure was directly in front of the vehicle on the exit road and moved quickly left into dense forest, with only its lower torso visible. He also notes smelling a foul stench shortly before the sounds while acknowledging it might have had another source.

The witness was night-fishing along a river trail when heavy footsteps approached on the wooded hillside. Shining a headlamp toward the sound caused it to stop, and it resumed after the light was removed. The footsteps paralleled the witness back to the parking area without ever emerging, and a search with a brighter light revealed nothing seen or smelled.

In a partially lit spot at the woods edge the witness saw a reddish, long-haired, ape-like creature squatting with its long arms forward.

While delivering newspapers before sunrise, the witness stopped at paper tubes and noticed a dark figure walking along the edge of a cornfield by the treeline. The figure turned toward the witness, showing large red eyes, paused to look again when the witness moved the vehicle for a better view, then continued walking away. The witness left quickly after watching for about 20 to 25 seconds.

The witness and a companion were at home late at night when they heard loud, deep, rhythmic calling from the woods behind the house. They described at least three separate voices calling back and forth and moving closer over about two hours, while dogs cowered and cats hid and other night sounds stopped. They could not identify the sounds as known animals and later felt they resembled whoop recordings attributed to Bigfoot.
