Whoop in Washington
Account
The witness and a companion drove and walked around a volcanic canyon area through the night until about four in the morning. While on foot they heard loud whoops followed minutes later by loud howls and then strange hoot-like sounds. The witness noted the howls might have been coyote and the hoots might have been owls, leaving the source uncertain.
