Whoop in Tennessee (1982)
Account
The witness and his father were fishing from an anchored boat up river from the pump station near tall cliffs with caves. Each time they caught a fish they heard a whooping sound from the cliffs, and when they released undersized fish they heard a different exasperated-like vocal response. They could not see the source despite looking across at the cliff openings, and the witness later felt the sounds matched recorded Sierra vocalizations.
