As a child of eleven or twelve, the witness was playing in the woods behind his uncle's house near Sugar Creek in summer. He exchanged tree knocks with something nearby and then saw a small gorilla-like silhouette with a cone-shaped head peeking from behind a tree about thirty feet away. The figure ducked back behind the tree and he ran out.
