Wood knock near Saluda, North Carolina (2017)
Account
While staying at a secluded cabin on the river the witness walked into the woods at sunrise, gave a single tree knock, and after silence heard three loud knocks followed by a tree cracking and crashing close enough to shake the ground. On later nighttime visits he hung a field recorder uphill, spoke to the woods, and captured snaps, movement through leaves, recorder contact, loud knocks, and a single distant yell. He has hours of audio still to review.
