The witness was at home when neighborhood dogs became agitated then quiet and their own dog showed fear. The witness went outside and heard an unfamiliar person-like cackling or howling sound from woods about 100 yards away and recorded it on a phone. Over about two minutes the sound drew closer while the dog became increasingly frightened, prompting the witness to go back inside. Deer normally seen nightly were then absent for a couple of days.
