A mother camping with her young son and his friend near Bagby Hot Springs was up around 1 a.m. when her son needed the bathroom. While restarting the fire they heard three rapid knocks echoing through the trees and watched a tall hairy bipedal figure cross the camp less than 100 feet away in under ten seconds before they retreated to the tent. In the morning they found the cooler open with two of three apples missing while other food remained, then packed quickly and had difficulty finding the route out before driving home.
