A team member in position used a thermal, saw nothing, and after pulling it away was charged from up the mountain by something that ran down jumping side to side before retreating. The next day the team found a shredded sapling where he sat and scuff marks with jumps estimated at eight to ten feet. In one spot there were five finger divots wider than his hand could reach, too shallow to cast.
