Hunters hear shrieks, fall asleep inexplicably
Account
In the 1970s at Gold Point, the witness shot a rabbit and left the skin behind, then remained overnight at camp with a companion. During the night they were awakened by extremely loud undulating cries rising to a high shriek and huddled together with rifles. Both the companion and then the witness unexpectedly fell asleep and awoke the next morning, which the witness suggested might have been willed by the source of the cries.
