Squaw Lake fisherman followed. Unrecognized stench, knocking, and high pitch howl heard while fishing along lake shore
Account
In August 1998 the witness hiked to Squaw Lake to fish. While fishing from the shore, the witness noticed a very foul odor, then sounds like something striking a tree, then a high-pitched howl described as like a recorded scream, followed by the striking sound again. Feeling unnerved and watched, the witness left, and on the return noticed a pine by the trail with two freshly broken branches about 10 feet up.
