Elk hunter hears rhythmic calling
Account
The witness and two companions were hunting deer and elk around a large meadow in the evening. While waiting on a trail for elk to be pushed, the witness heard a rhythmic, low, hollow whistle-like alarmed call move across a field for about ten to fifteen minutes without seeing any source. After the sound stopped the witness walked down to join a companion and heard it again briefly from across the trail, which the companion was unsure he heard. A third hunter who had already returned to the vehicle said he had not reached the field and had heard nothing.
