Account
The witness relayed a friend's elk hunt near a lake where the friend shot a large bull elk that fell partly into the water. From several hundred meters away he watched the elk fall, but when he walked up to retrieve it something came out of the forest and carried it off. The animal was lost along with the tag, and the witness ruled out a bear.
