Tree break in California (2022)
Account
During a week-long backpacking trip, the two friends hiked off trail about two miles from base camp and found a bent high branch, a large tree suspended in air, lean-to branches, and a woven igloo-like shelter with large scat piles around it. On the way out they found three large human-like footprints crossing a marsh, one of which disappeared by the next day, and a large broken limb jammed into the ground across the trail. They interpreted the finds as unlikely to be human due to remoteness, lack of trash or fire pit, and trail-camera evidence of no other people.
