Sasquatch sighting near Burns, Tennessee (1860)
Account
As retold, two brothers or a man and worker stopped at Hall's Spring for water in the 1860s and saw a large hairy man-like thing staring from the woods. They ran, one was caught and killed, the survivor reported it, and locals formed a posse and staked a goat to try to capture it. This is given as the origin of Werewolf Springs.
