Unidentified sound near Bangor, Maine (2017)
Account
In late summer or fall 2017 the guest and his wife boated across a pond on their wooded property outside Bangor to locate a boundary marker. After the guest snapped a dead branch climbing over a fallen pine, they returned across the pond and heard a far louder crack from about 100 feet away at the same spot. Frightened with hair standing up, he shouted with no reply and they left, prompting years of research.
