While listening to recorded purported Bigfoot sounds, they felt watched and then heard saplings breaking upslope followed by a larger tree snapping and sliding toward them. Frightened, the group ran to the house porch.

The witness was deer hunting alone on a remote mountain ridge in the early morning around 1972-73. From about 400 yards away on another ridge, the witness watched a very large, very dark upright figure for several minutes. The figure was first mistaken for a bear but kept walking upright too long to be a bear, paused to manipulate a tree limb, then walked over the ridge and was not seen again.
