The creature later came down to the barn, peered around it at close range, carried a dead foal and laid it in grass, then left with it through the woods. Neighbors later reportedly found the foal miles away with internal organs missing.

They watched a three-foot shadowy figure with distorted light move near a rotted tree and approached it. Later from the porch he heard a loud tree strike, saw movement running between houses, and next day found torn coyote remains and heard fences were down and dogs missing.

On one of their last nights in the house, the witness's wife woke him to listen to repeated high whoop sounds approaching over about 40 minutes. He heard spaced footsteps in leaves outside the bedroom wall within feet of his head while their dog growled. He went to the porch with a gun, heard one more loud call felt in his chest, fired into the ground, and it fell silent.
