He first thought it was a man, then thought it looked like a gorilla with very wide football-pad shoulders. He did not tell the driver at the time because he did not know what he had seen.

The larger figure had very wide shoulders with its head set low, and it turned its upper body toward the smaller one as they passed. He said nothing at the time and later returned in daylight and found no stumps, signs, or poles that could explain them.

The witness was grouse hunting alone in the woods when he startled something to his left. A black upright figure ran incredibly fast across the woods without crashing sounds and stopped behind a distant tree. It stepped out, stared directly at the witness, did not wave back, then stepped back behind the tree and was gone when the witness walked up.

During a crowded evening party, the teenage witness was sent to fetch beer from cars parked in the dark driveway. He saw reflective eyes and a large squatting silhouette with wide-set eyes, heavy shoulders and knuckles on the ground, which he concluded was not the known local bear. He stalled, slipped into the light, ran inside for a shotgun, but the figure left before his father turned on the lights.

Within a few feet she noticed a very large reddish-brown hairy figure with two smaller figures on the other side of the bushes, all quietly picking berries and then crouching into tight balls with faces turned away. She kept picking past them, retreated slowly to the house, and told her grandfather, who fired shots but found nothing; as an adult she interprets them as a Sasquatch family.
