The witness was inside the home at night when excited barking from local dogs caused a look out a window. A large hairy biped was seen backlit by an approaching car's headlights as it ran upright across the road about 130 feet away, and the car slowed as if its occupants also saw it. The witness then went outside to bring in a dog, noticed a bad odor, and later searches found no footprints.

The witness was hunting in the Wolf Creek Road area when they found a large five-toed footprint trail leading up from a creek bed. They measured one print and noted it left a one-inch depression where their own weight left no impression. No odor, scat, or unusual limb breakage was observed.

The figures walked hunched over with ape-like arm swings and long strides and appeared to come toward the witness, who then ran toward a vehicle.

They approached and looked through the culvert and saw the silhouettes of two ape-like creatures with glowing eyes crouched at the far end, swaying and humming. On March 18, 2001, two brothers hiking near Table Rock Wilderness found large bare-foot-like prints in snow that were larger and deeper than their own boot prints. They photographed the prints with a dollar bill for scale and estimated a 4-foot stride. No animal was seen, and a search of other prints found no hair.

A large dark mass rose from dense cover and stepped into view as a tall, broad, hair-covered biped. The witness was driving south on Highway 219 out of Hillsboro at night with high beams on while scanning for wildlife. The headlights illuminated a tall, upright, shaggy animal standing motionless in a field a short distance from the road. The witness estimated it at about 8 feet tall, noted it faced the lights without reflective eyes, and passed it in seconds at 55 mph. On driving by again about an hour later, the animal was gone.

The relatives joined him to examine it closely and they found a coarse hair inside the print. They photographed and videotaped the print and kept the hair in a film container, but the hair was later lost while showing it to someone.

The sound started faintly to their left, grew louder as it passed above them, then faded, moving faster than a person could travel. They could see nothing through the dense forest.

The witness was hiking down into high lake country when a strong bad odor caught attention. About 15 to 20 feet away at the tree line, an upright dark-haired creature stood looking at the witness. The creature turned and quickly left over a small hill into forest cover within seconds. The frightened witness left the area westward and has not returned.
