During the first night they heard a fast-moving loud vocalization, prolonged limb-snapping, stomping and tree-shaking across a field. Later the guest sensed being watched, investigated a thicket and encountered an overpowering ammonia-like odor that he interpreted as a threat display.

A family of four hiking with a daughter in an off-road wheelchair encountered a gray-black animal on all fours that approached then left. A tall seven-foot figure then ran through chasing what they believed was a hog, which was heard squealing and then going quiet. A smaller all-fours figure with unusual head hair then approached them snarling until a whistle from the woods called it away, and the family fled.

The witness, then a child, was wading a shallow creek fishing while the older cousin fished separately. The witness heard bipedal splashes and watched a huge hair-covered human-like figure cross the creek, climb the high bank, and eat fish from the stringer. The figure looked back and forth between the witness and the approaching cousin, then took the stringer and left the way it came. The cousin called it by a local name, said it was a Bigfoot, and made the witness swear never to mention it.
