The witness and a companion were on a winter afternoon drive when the companion spotted tracks in a snow-covered field. They found a single set of large bare-foot-like prints with distinct heel and toes leading toward trees, far larger than the companion's foot with a long stride. A relative brought back to the site was also puzzled, and one print was photographed alongside a boot for scale.

In the fall of 1968, the witness was home late at night watching television while a small child slept in another room. After getting up, the witness saw glowing red eyes and a dark outlined shape in the window behind the chair. The witness waited, then called law enforcement to report a prowler and while waiting heard windows and the back door rattle softly. Deputies arrived much later and remarked the figure must have been fairly tall, and no tracks were found the next day because of leaves.

In August 1964 two teenagers were walking back to a family cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon after dark when they heard footsteps matching their movements and a low unearthly growl. They ran through a gully to the cabin and locked themselves inside. They then heard the nearby outhouse door open and slam, saw nothing when they turned on an outside light, later heard the door fling open with crashing in brush, and spent the night upstairs.

During a family picnic in the Wasatch Mountains, a five-year-old playing hide-and-seek ran around a mound and encountered a large hair-covered figure about 30 feet away beside a tree. The two watched each other briefly before the child broke the stare and ran screaming back to the picnic area. Adults suggested a deer or bobcat and found nothing on re-check, but the child saw the figure again in the same spot while the group was leaving.

A helicopter pilot and lineman hovering over a forest clearing watched a very large biped and a smaller one, then a tiny one climb onto the smaller one's back and two more small ones that quickly disappeared. The large one stared then stepped back into trees.

While hiking with a friend over a high pass at night, the witness found a large pool of blood on the trail and a short distance off-trail a freshly dead antlered deer with no visible bullet or arrow wounds. Nearby the witness noticed thin trees woven into a teepee-like structure with trampled grass at its base. The witness felt watched while leaving the area and later wondered if the structure marked the kill location.

While trying to flank elk, the witness went alone down into pines and lost sight of companions and elk. He saw a round brown head with forward eyes and no ears or snout watching him from behind brush. It looked at him and away repeatedly for a few minutes before he left.

The witness's female coworker said she and her boyfriend were lying in the back of their Jeep by the water waiting for fish when raccoons were rustling nearby. She got up to check and saw a tall figure staring at her over the top of the vehicle, which then ran away extremely fast and loudly. The next morning they found an area of matted reeds with a freshly stripped catfish skeleton and entrails nearby.

While sitting near a small lake they repeatedly heard sounds of rocks or boulders being moved nearby every few minutes. They did not investigate and left without seeing what made the noise.

While following a large bear track with an owner's hounds wearing GPS collars, the dogs bayed at the canyon bottom then went completely silent and could not be located. Months later the owner returned from another direction, recovered collars and smashed bones shoved under a large rock, suggesting the dogs were killed together.

A hunting guide walking quickly ahead of his hunter to retrieve a truck encountered a tall figure standing ahead on the trail. When spoken to, it turned, backed into trees, and watched him as he gave it a wide berth. He radioed the others to keep moving, later told the witness in camp, and downplayed it to the hunter as a bear.

The witness says that on multiple evenings while hunting or heading home with dogs, he saw figures with glowing red eyes and dog-like ears watching from brush across the river. His dogs would growl and confront the figures, and gunfire would provoke screaming and fights. On several occasions a dog chased and never returned.
