As a small child the witness went outside early in the morning to get leftover crackers from a backyard playhouse. He heard a whooping sound from the woods, then a huge hairy figure stepped sideways out of the playhouse, grunted, and quickly went over the fence. He told his parents he saw a monster but they dismissed it as a nightmare.

The witness came around a corner to a remote lakeside camp that was torn apart, with tents, stoves, sleeping bags and a hibachi scattered and trees damaged. The witness recorded large bipedal footprints and drag marks leading toward the shallows. That night the group heard lip-blow sounds and saw eyeshine nearby, and a quick revisit the next morning documented the same scene.

During a group expedition in a remote overflow camp, a woman with dogs and a child screamed that a monster was trying to take her daughter. The teller, who went toward the screams with others, relayed that the woman said it opened the tent and tried to take the child and described a squatch.

Small trees flew as something charged like a freight train, and the witness stopped it with a green laser to its eyes. Under a floodlight they saw a huge black-haired standing creature blowing through its lips, which then left, and next-day measurements suggested about nine feet tall with large footprints.

While working the torn-up camp area, the witness was struck by a rock just under the glasses. The witness described it as not fun and placed it among repeated rock-throwing encounters there.

Later in the same trip a distressed deer lingered at the edge of camp all day and night. Late at night while the group sat at a picnic table, something moved through camp just outside lantern light with heavy thumps. The witness first rationalized it as the deer but remained unsure whether it was bipedal or bounding.

The witness was on military leave camping with a large group and a spouse in a loud sleeping bag. In the middle of the first night they awoke to a very loud scream that began like a whoop then rose high. They lay listening for footfalls and heard nothing further.

The witness was riding in the back of a vehicle while road hunting and looking down a steep hill. The witness looked up and saw a black-furred head and shoulder pulling a small tree aside about five feet off the road. After locking eyes briefly the witness looked away and saw dark arm, leg and belly moving off on all fours, with nothing visible when passing the spot.

In old times people lived around the lake but left after daughters were said to be taken by a hairy tribe from higher on the mountain. A truce was made where the tribe shared cedar-basket weaving knowledge in exchange for the people leaving the lake area.

The companion later said something sat in a cave watching him, with steam visible in the moonlight, and insisted on being taken home. The next day the group returned with larger guns and found small fish and animal bones near the cave but saw nothing.

He felt and heard heavy running footsteps and breathing approach, then heard a splash as it jumped into the lake. He shone a flashlight, saw disturbed water with bubbles, and the swimmer never surfaced while he watched.
