On a moonlit night in summer 1970, the witness was on a road by a cornfield with a companion when a large brownish creature was heard and then seen running across the road, down a ditch, over a fence and into the cornfield. The creature had a foul smell. The witness returned the next day and found large smudged footprints in the road and cornfield.
Screams and stalking at a Girl Scout camp 13 miles west of Dubuque
In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

Over late summer into fall the guest and his wife repeatedly heard something in the woods by the painting studio baying, whining and almost crying in the dead of night. It occurred every couple weeks, about half a dozen times, and shining flashlights revealed nothing. The sounds then stopped and did not recur.

The guest's young son came out toward the painting studio in the evening and stopped short at the tree line. He reported seeing a very big hairy coyote man, ran inside crying and remained frightened for a long time. The guest did not witness it himself and did not know where the child would have learned that description.

The guest had an old friend visiting and they sat by a fire, then walked to the lane where the friend was parked. They heard several sounds like poor impressions of owls, then coyotes, and hills to the west and northwest erupted with many similar callers for almost a minute. The sound then changed again to an indescribable impression before fading, and the friend left.
Howl in Iowa
After moving to a rural property on a river, the guest was outside late at night because he could not sleep. From about a mile and a half away he heard a long sustained howl he compared to the Ohio howl. It did not frighten him because of the distance, and he took it as a sign the creatures were also present there.
