Artifact hunter describes an unusual daylight encounter in a public hunting area near Van Wert
The witness walked into a creek to look for surface artifacts and climbed out of the creek bed. About 20 feet away he saw a hair-covered creature sitting asleep against an oak tree with its hands locked across its knees. He dropped back into the creek out of sight, after which the creature got up and ran east across a gravel road.
Driver Witnesses large, dark creature cross the road
The witness was driving with a companion at night near a canal by South Mountain Park in Phoenix. A large black, burly-bodied creature crossed the road in front of their car, moving on all fours or dragging its front limbs. It looked toward them showing a face described as similar to a Sasquatch or orangutan, then disappeared into darkness.
Sighting by two backpackers
Two companions camping overnight were awakened by movement on rocks above camp. They listened for about 15 minutes, then watched a bipedal form cross a stream and meadow into the treeline about 200 yards away. After daylight they found a large gouge in soft earth and flattened grass, then left the area.

On the opening day of archery elk season while hunting, the witness found very large tracks that sank deep into dirt. The witness backtracked the trail about five or six hundred yards along a clearcut to a previously hunted canyon before losing the tracks in timber.

They walked down a dead-end road, turned on flashlights together, and saw a very large hairy figure standing in the road about ten to fifteen yards away. The figure looked at them briefly without aggression, breathed audibly, then turned and walked easily up a steep hill. Both men were shaken by adrenaline, radioed their mentor, and chose not to pursue.

The companion spoke for about 15 minutes while chirping replies like birds were heard, but the witness never saw the creature. After returning to their pickup, they found many footprints, and nearby they saw a large area of trees stripped of bark and leaves.

The witness reported seeing a creature walking around the edge of a small lake across from a condo near Newport. The creature was described as having no neck, long black hair, and taking large strides. Three relatives present at the time also reportedly witnessed the creature.

The witness camped alone on pine needles above old coal mines after companions left for the night. Around 3 a.m. he awoke feeling watched to dead silence, then heard loud ape-like screams from both ends of camp at intervals. He saw a very large hairy biped cross the camp about 20 to 30 feet away and felt its steps through the ground. He walked quickly out of the camp and ran to his parents' house once clear of the woods.

About a decade before reporting, the witness was riding a horse alone on a dirt road near dusk when the horse stopped and stared into the woods. The witness then saw a tall white upright creature approach quickly and turn sideways before disappearing silently behind small pines. The witness did not enter the woods to investigate and left the scene quickly.

The witness and a relative were driving in the early evening as a storm approached. About 30 yards ahead they saw four hair-covered bipeds walking single file east across the road from dense woods on one side to dense woods on the other. The figures ranged in size and were holding hands, moving with long strides without appearing hurried. The witnesses did not stop and reported no unusual sounds or odors during this encounter.

The witness was riding a bicycle on a gravel road on the way home from a friend's house when something in the woods drew attention. About 100 yards away in the woods, a hair-covered creature walked perpendicular to the witness for about a minute before stopping beside a large birch tree. When the witness looked away to decide which way to run, the creature was gone, and the witness ran back to the friend's house and got a ride home.

The witness was driving slowly on a gravel road at night with two passengers when he noticed unusual eyeshine. A large dark shape crouched in bushes stood up in the headlights and walked along the corn edge. It sidestepped into the corn, looked at the witness, then disappeared between rows.

He heard many dogs barking loudly, then a loud yell after which the barking stopped abruptly leaving silence. He reported seeing and smelling nothing, keeping the experience to himself until morning.

A relative of the witness and friends were swimming at a dam near Chiloquin on a Saturday in July when frog and cricket noises suddenly stopped toward the evening. A strong odor was then noticed. No creature was described as seen in this part of the account.

The witness became lost while hiking west off Rux Road and spent about 12 hours traveling through forest and waist-deep swamp. Around midday in a bog near a wilderness lake he found four to five large human-like footprints with distinct toes in the mud. Later that day in dense brush he heard strange grunting sounds he could not see, then reached a dirt road and got a ride home.

A group was sleeping while camping at a lake when the witness awoke around 5 a.m. to silence. From behind a parked vehicle the witness heard two grunts, a loud low scream, and repeated chest-beating sounds, but did not see the source. The witness listened for departure but heard nothing leaving and found no tracks in the morning.

The witness camped with three companions near Skookum Lake after hiking Thunder Mountain. During the night the witness awoke to sounds described as large rocks tumbling down a ridge, then later to heavy, widely spaced footsteps moving through camp. The companions reportedly slept through the noises and no footprints were found the next day. The witness later associated the sounds with Sasquatch after reading similar accounts.
Family sees stooped-over creature walking along forest line
The witness and family were picnicking near Deadmans Pass when they noticed a figure sitting and swaying at the forest line across a ravine about a half-mile away. They watched for four or five minutes until it stood up, revealing great height, then walked stooped into the woods in a few long steps. The witness concluded it was not a bear and said it looked and moved much like the subject of the Patterson-Gimlin film.
