The witness was awakened by a brief loud roaring scream described as coming from dense woods across the yard and roadway. The witness did not look out the window and no one else in the house reported hearing it.

In the middle of the night the witness awoke to hissing sounds and saw a broad-shouldered silhouetted figure about 20 feet away behind a fence for several minutes. The figure then turned and left silently, after which rapid clicking sounds like rocks striking were heard moving away across the river.

A group stopped their pickup on an unfamiliar foggy road to scout ahead on foot. Hearing rocks tumbling and then finding large fresh footprints crossing their recent path, they ran back to the vehicle. Around 10 at night something struck the house so hard the witness's head hit the wall and his mother was left speechless with fear. He found no vehicle or tracks outside. Walking up the long driveway toward a logging road, he sensed something about to pounce, drew a handgun, and ran back to the house.

As juniors in high school age, the witness and a friend found large footprints in snow and nearby unfrozen animal intestines, which frightened them. They ran to another friend's house and returned with the friend's father, who brought a pistol and camera and photographed the prints. Family members laughed when told.

The witness was resting on a mountainside overlooking a valley and lake when they noticed a large dark figure emerge from trees at the bottom. The figure climbed a steep clear-cut hill in about a minute without stopping, swinging its arms with hands appearing below the knees. It continued over the top and into the trees. The witness emphasized its large size, dark color, and unusually fast steady pace.

The figure walked toward the witness with a swaying gait, stopped, then moved again. A large black hairy creature crossed the road in front of them and went down a trail toward their woods fort. The witness followed, confronted it at close range, saw a muscular creature with a blonde head patch and expressionless face, then yelled for the others to retreat and ran home.

A group setting up an elk hunting camp found large footprints in deep snow. The writer joined in following the trackway down below the snow level. The tracks were very large with very long strides and led away from camp.
While watching TV at night, teen has sighting through window in Spanaway
In October 1970, a teenager watching television indoors glanced toward a large picture window and reported a tall grey hair-covered figure standing very close outside staring in. The figure remained motionless while staring directly, with massive arms, reddish glowing eyes, and visible breathing. After the witness fled to another room, the figure was gone.

In July 1977 the witness was helping a relative fix fence on a hill behind the ranch around noon. He and the relative saw two tall pine trees sway inside the fence line and then heard a loud yelling uhhing sound. A tall tree bent sharply and crashing movement through dense brush showed where a large animal was moving.

The witness was walking alone on a spring morning near Scenic, Washington when an extremely loud sound was heard three times from about half a block away near old railroad bunkhouses. The sound was described as starting like a roar and rising to a shrill pitch, repeated with short pauses. The witness did not see the source and could not identify it as any known local animal.

In summer around 1970, the witness and a friend were walking on an old dirt road through dense forest. About 50 feet ahead they heard a loud growling and screaming sound, saw trees shaking with sunlight breaking through the canopy, and felt the ground shake. They ran about half a mile out of the woods and the witness reported it to family that evening.
