In September 1998 the witness and a companion were stalking elk in the morning when they heard a very loud, low, powerful growl nearby. The witness, an experienced hunter, said he had never heard anything like it and his companion was very frightened. They stopped hunting for the day and returned to camp without seeing the source.

In March 1997, two sisters driving to their mother's house encountered a large hairy figure sitting beside a dirt road. When headlights illuminated it, the figure stood to seven feet or taller and then moved toward the river. The witnesses were frightened and said it was neither a bear nor a human.

Later that night while around a campfire, all five heard prolonged screaming and moaning sounds coming from across an arroyo toward the foothills. Two members walked toward the sounds but saw nothing, and a search of the area the next day found nothing unusual.

Near dusk after dinner, a relative ran back frightened and the family gathered at the doorway to look toward the well. The witness saw a grayish-brown hairy figure kneeling at the well as if drinking or washing, which then looked over its shoulder revealing manlike features, frightening the witness who ran inside to hide.

A tall, dark, hair-covered bipedal figure emerged from the tree line, crossed along the edge of the meadow in daylight, and re-entered the trees without noticing the witness.
