While camping with relatives in swampy woods, the witness heard prolonged screaming and strange noises through the night that frightened the group. They were unable to leave due to muddy roads and remained in camp until morning. At first light they found small trees snapped over, grass flattened, and what they described as huge footprints.

A little after 1 a.m., after a relative blew a hunting-dog horn to elicit an owl response, the group heard a single loud scream while lying on cots in the moonlight. The witness and a relative were loading firewood into a truck when they noticed a large black hairy creature about 50-60 yards away. The creature had come out of the woods and watched them for about 30 seconds. It then walked away briskly into the woods.

Late one evening in 1976, a neighbor arriving home reportedly found a large hairy dark man-like creature on his porch. The creature fled when headlights hit it and leaped over a six-foot fence. The [name withheld] family was at home in a heavily wooded area when the dogs became fearful, usual night sounds stopped, and a strange stillness and odor were noticed. They then heard limbs breaking across the road as if caused by something large. The next morning the husband found a trail at the location that he could not identify.
Duck hunters have early morning encounter
The witness and a companion were duck hunting by boat in a Louisiana bayou at dawn when they noticed a large hairy form in the water ahead. The form appeared to walk upright toward them, showing long hair, a bearded face, and swaying shoulders above the waterline. Unable to identify it or get a verbal response, they became frightened and motored away, abandoning their decoys.

The witness was squirrel hunting along a creek when dogs approached from the opposite bank. A hair-covered biped broke through brush, slid toward the water, climbed back up, looked toward the witness, then jogged north out of sight. The dogs stopped barking and did not follow the trail to the creek.

The witness was playing on the back screen door at home in the evening while food was cooking inside. From about 50 feet away under a bright light, the witness watched a tall reddish-haired biped rip open a metal trash can and dig through garbage for about 20 minutes. A parent then pulled the children inside and shut the door, and the next morning trash was scattered and the lid was bent.

Two officers responding to a late-night prowler call encountered a tall dark hair-covered biped. It was first seen pressed against a house, then moved between houses and crossed a residential street under a streetlight before disappearing into a wooded marshy area near a canal. The officers watched it cross the wide street in three strides without running, and tracking dogs lost its scent at the marsh.
Witness looked up into the eyes of Bigfoot
The witness was playing outside at night by the driveway next to the woods and walked toward a streetlight when a tall hairy figure was standing directly in front. The witness looked up at its face and eyes while it looked down without expression, then ran inside to tell parents who dismissed it. A few minutes later a relative and a friend ran inside saying they heard someone walking in the woods.

The witness, age 6-7, wandered down a trail from a family levee picnic while watching for snakes. He noticed movement by a large tree about 15-20 feet away, made eye contact with a dark figure, and it screamed and thrust its head forward. He ran back to the picnic blanket believing it meant to harm him.

Looking closer the witness saw feet, a bleeding leg with sand piled on it, breathing and grumbling, and a large hand thrown behind it like a resting person. Frightened, the witness carried the dog away quietly then ran home.

In fall 1925, two brothers were walking to duck blinds at sunrise near a lake in Louisiana with a kerosene lamp. They noticed two red reflections in the treeline that approached them, revealing a furry, lumbering figure with red eyes reflecting the light. When it came within a few feet, the brothers dropped their gear and fled home in fear.

Family members found a line of large human-like footprints in sand that started at a lake, went up a steep sand bank, and continued toward a thick swamp. The prints were described as about 16 inches long with a very long stride of about eight feet. The discovery was reported in summer 1991 after a relative noticed the tracks by the lake.
