A visitor from the UK went to a beach near Monterey to photograph sea otters at sundown. She watched six very large, hairy bipeds come around a cove, with a large male wading while others handled seaweed on the sand. After her camera gear clattered on rocks, the male approached and argued vocally with a female before threatening her, after which she lost consciousness.

The animal stood on two legs, revealing ape-like features, holding a tree with one hand. Frightened, he ran back to camp and his father dismissed it as a bear.

The witness and his father camped to build blinds and saw three sets of tall red eyeshine outside the fire circle that dimmed when lit. Later something struck their truck camper hard enough to knock items off shelves, then a loud woman-like scream sounded nearby with an answering scream where the eyes had been, followed by movement around the camper all night.

While camped with volunteers for an archaeology project in California, the witness heard something approach her tent at night and felt it touch the tent from top to bottom. She got out to look but found nothing. After re-entering, she heard a bang by her head, concluded it had been in a tree, then heard it walk away over granite.

From a parked position in a clearcut, he and a friend took turns watching a large upright figure at the treeline edge for 20 to 25 minutes. While camped above the ocean in sleeping bags, the guest and a friend watched a huge black craft shaped with a curved front and narrow neck move jerkily north. It projected a black beam and instantly jumped to that spot. It crossed over Kings Peak, dropped into a creek drainage, and disappeared.

A fisherman listening to elk cross Redwood Creek heard a much larger bipedal splashing that never lost footing in deep water. A huge muscular sasquatch emerged from fog about thirty feet away, gave him a contemptuous look, then walked to where the elk exited and followed them back into fog. He fled back to report it.

While far offshore, the crew heard excited radio traffic from other boats and then saw a blue ball of light travel across the sky lighting the horizon. It moved from the east past Mendocino and Sonoma out to the Farallones where other fishermen said it entered the water still glowing. The guest could not tell if it was natural or crafted.

A friend who worked as a highway patrolman found tracks where animals fleeing a fast wildfire had crossed a state highway. The highway was about eighty feet wide and the tracks showed it had been cleared in about two to two and a half steps.

The witness's father hung two large slabs of wild hog meat on high hooks under the roof rafters to cure overnight and brought them inside each morning. One morning both slabs were gone without torn meat, bent hooks, drag marks, or mess, and the family's dogs would not approach the spot and had barked not at all overnight. The witness speculates the creature seen earlier may have taken the meat.

About a week before the main night, the witness saw something large dart past on all fours and assumed a mountain lion. He fetched a coworker and they observed a heat signature looking around a tree with a thermal scope, and the witness fired a crossbow arrow that hit a nearby tree. The coworker quit the next day without explanation.

He heard impacts on a metal container, then saw a dark upright figure by the trees that crept toward him as rocks were thrown.
