The witness was driving alone on a highway in the morning and noticed what looked like a backpacker with hiking poles on the shoulder. The figure crossed the road in a few long strides with odd bobbing motion, and sunlight revealed a wide-shouldered, dark-coated biped with no pack. The witness drove to the crossing point but could no longer see it in the thinned forest.

In broad daylight the witness was inside the house when movement caught his eye through the window about 30 to 40 feet away. A very tall hair-covered creature with gray leathery facial skin, an old-man-like face, heavy brow, huge hands and long arms was resting an arm on a tall stump and looking at him. After several seconds of eye contact it dropped behind the stump, ran upright across the two-lane road in a few explosive steps, and disappeared down the hill.

A few nights before the daylight sighting, food had been left out for deer. The witnesses heard chewing that sounded human-like and went to the balcony to look. Nothing was visible, but they heard loud pounding footsteps running away and something launching off and going silent.

The guest was canoeing with a church youth group near Mount Shasta when the group felt they were being followed along the bank and smelled a bad odor. A basketball-sized rock was thrown with great force from dense cover and landed near his canoe, prompting leaders to flee. Years later he learned a boy in another canoe had seen a head show its teeth then withdraw, which he now attributes to a Sasquatch.

They heard rustling like small animals in leaves that seemed to circle them, followed by unintelligible whisper-like voices that felt very close and could not be located. Feeling the same intense fear as before, they stood back-to-back with firearms then withdrew to their car and left the gear, later learning from a ranger that the bend was where drowned bodies were recovered.

Shortly after the first incident, the witness returned to the same area armed hoping to learn more. He stayed up after work and heard a distant loud siren-like sound similar to the earlier vocalizations. It remained far away and did not approach.

The witness and a group of friends were hiking down from rocky terrain above the treeline toward thicker forest after exploring mining and cave areas where they had previously found dead animals. A large hairy human-like creature approached from below and walked directly through the group, passing very close without pausing or changing expression. The witnesses were frozen with fear and unable to move or speak clearly, then left quickly for their vehicles once the creature had passed and fled the area.

About a month to a month and a half after the Yosemite trip, the witness parked on a roadside in Sequoia and slept in the camper shell of a small truck. The truck was shaken side to side. Looking through the rear window, the witness saw a huge eight-foot primate-like creature holding the truck, which then squatted to look inside before walking across the road into the woods.
