A couple hiking near the Hibernia Bat Cave stopped to rest on a log and heard two wood knocks. They knocked back twice but heard no further response. They reported no construction, woodpecker, or traffic noise to explain the sounds, and no other hikers were nearby at the time.

The witness and a companion were night fishing at a reservoir when they heard an unfamiliar loud vocalization. The witness described himself as an experienced outdoorsman and said the sound resembled Bigfoot sounds heard online and was not a known animal. The howl was heard from a distance twice, about 15 to 20 minutes apart.

The witness was driving home at night in Mansfield when headlights revealed a small black-haired biped. The creature ran across the two-lane road upright on two legs with arms swinging, crossing in a few strides. The witness estimated it at 4 to 5 feet tall and 150 to 200 pounds and said it did not match any known animal like bear, coyote, or fox.

The witness and a companion were fishing from a canoe at night when they heard loud screams coming from a wooded hill. Shortly after, they heard something moving bipedally through the woods toward the screams, loudly breaking sticks and branches. They stayed in place listening for almost an hour before leaving.

On April 29, 2006 the witness was driving southbound on an unfamiliar road after leaving a mall when a deer bolted across the road in front of the car. A dark bipedal figure about six feet tall immediately followed in fast pursuit of the deer across the road and into trees and swamp on the other side. The entire chase lasted under 20 seconds, with exaggerated arm swing and speed that seemed exceptional for uneven terrain.

The witness got out to check and reported seeing a black-faced, ape-like animal with sandy-brown hair peering from brush about 25 feet away. After a few seconds it stood fully upright and ran bipedally into the pines, and the pair later heard bipedal running approaching the car before leaving.

The witness was with relatives and friends on a back deck in late afternoon when the group watched a grey ape-like figure sitting on a hillside rock about 100 yards away. After a BB gun was fired toward it, the creature turned toward the group, then climbed a steep rock face hand-over-hand and walked bipedally over a ridge out of sight. No vocalizations were heard and facial features could not be distinguished at the distance.

A deer hunter sat in a tree stand on a crisp clear morning while noticing a strong foul odor. While walking back along an old logging trail around 10 a.m., the hunter saw a very large upright hairy animal step onto the trail, pause and look, then calmly walk away bipedally. The hunter ran the opposite direction, dropping gear, and later returned to find no tracks but noted a freshly broken branch.

The witness was driving past a marshy wetland area beside a highway during morning rush hour and peered into the woods and fields. About 200-250 yards away near a creek, the witness saw a dark upright human-like silhouette standing motionless for 4-5 seconds, apparently looking down. Unable to discern fine detail, the witness could not rule out a tree trunk or person, but on revisiting the spot on later days the shape was gone.

A couple driving home late at night saw a dark, shaggy, broad-bodied creature cross the road in front of their car. It moved upright but hunched over in quick strides and disappeared into thick brush on the far side. They slowed to look but saw no further sign, noting a barking dog on the side where it had emerged.

Early one sunny morning, the witness looked out a bathroom window and saw a jet-black, ape-like figure running bipedally along the backyard fence. The figure ran silently and fluidly over uneven leaf-covered ground with its arms held like a human runner, then disappeared into the woods. About a minute later the witness heard repeated rock-knocking sounds from the woods. A later inspection of the area found no footprints.

In December 2001 four hunters were leaving the woods along a logging road after dark when something in the adjacent swamp repeatedly screamed and charged toward them while breaking branches. The group was armed but could not see the source, felt the ground shake, and described the screams as extremely loud and frightening. After several bluff charges, the source moved deeper into the swamp and the hunters left the area.

Honking produced no change and the sound faltered then stopped after the witness shouted loudly twice, and it was not heard again on a later check. The source was not seen because it was dark and about 15 yards away at the far edge of the trees.

The witness and two relatives were on the back deck of a condo after a barbecue when a tall figure was seen moving down the slope. The figure glanced toward the group as it walked past and climbed over a wooden fence into a wooded ravine. The group went inside after all seeing the same figure.
