During summer military training the witness was camped above treeline with a group and noticed movement across a valley about half a mile away. A dark figure crossed snowfields on two legs with long strides and swinging arms, moving fast in a way the witness felt was unlike a bear or a human. The group watched together until the figure blended into rocks and disappeared, and they were too frightened to inspect the area that night or the next day.

The witness was rabbit hunting along a dirt road when a very tall, shaggy dark brown figure appeared about 30 feet ahead, stared and grunted, then walked quietly into the woods. They packed out carrying the dog while being followed down the trail, with one silent individual flushing very close, until reaching the car.
