Three children walking on a wooded footpath noticed a tall female-like figure with a smaller juvenile standing by a tree off to the side. The larger figure stared at them, gave off a dead-animal smell, stepped toward them, growled and bared its teeth after being pointed out. The group fled toward a residence while hearing branches breaking, prolonged howling and screaming, and trees being beaten.
Midnight sighting by motorist on Coy Rd
The witness was traveling at highway speed around midnight after getting off work when they noticed a tall hairy figure standing in a ditch beside a cement bridge. The figure's head was well above the bridge deck, leading the witness to estimate a height of eight to nine feet. The witness went back in daylight the next morning and found no tall vegetation that could explain the sighting.

On a weekend morning the witness and two companions walked down a trail toward the back fields and noticed a strong odor of death and wet dog. The witness saw a small hairy juvenile peeking from behind what proved to be the leg of a very large female standing motionless in a clearing. After he pointed at her she roared, the group fled while hearing screams, howls and chatter around them, and the next morning a large log they played on was found broken.

During rabbit season in 1976 the witness was hunting with four companions in dense snowy woods when he became separated. He heard an extremely loud sound and then had a roughly five-second view of a huge dark brown bipedal figure running at full speed. He later told his companions, who suggested it was a deer, but he insisted it was not.
A childhood encounter just outside of Wadsworth, Ohio
As a child exploring woods beyond a permitted woodline on family property, the witness encountered a brown, hairy creature in a squatting position about 15 yards away. The creature stood to at least seven feet tall, showing a hair-covered back, broad shoulders, and long arms, but the witness fled in fear before it turned around. The surroundings were noted as completely quiet.

The witness was practicing the long jump alone in the backyard in the late afternoon when an extremely loud roar came from nearby thick woods. The sound vibrated through his body and frightened him. He ran immediately inside the house crying and shouted that it was Bigfoot.

Late at night the witness went outside to feed barking dogs and heard something moving through the adjacent cornfield. A tall silhouette about 75 feet away rose above the corn and stared at the witness for about 30 seconds before the witness ran inside and locked the doors. The next day the witness found scuff marks, a path through the corn, and stalks with missing corn but no clear prints.

After noticing a musty rotting-grass smell, the witness saw a large upright hair-covered figure off the path that turned and looked in her direction. In mid-summer 1975 around midnight, the witness and three companions were wading the Olentangy River when they heard breaking brush and saw a tall hair-covered biped at the tree line. The figure followed them downstream as they moved, and they heard heavy movement in the water and a howl as they fled to a nearby apartment complex. At the woods edge near the apartments it stopped and stared at them before they ran toward town and abandoned their gear for two days.

The witness and a companion hiked through a creek bed to a long-visited spot in the woods. They found a large area where tall weeds and trees had been matted down into a bed-like clearing with outer vegetation bent outward. While examining it they heard heavy bipedal footsteps and breaking twigs approaching through dense foliage but could not see the source. They retreated to the road while the unseen source followed at a distance, staying about 100 feet away.

The witness and his cousin were leaving a state park lake late at night after fishing all day. A very tall dark hairy biped stepped into the road at a hairpin curve right in front of the truck. It crossed in a few steps without looking at them while the cousin shouted to drive away.

Four people were coon hunting with hounds on a full-moon night in late fall and were walking out toward the truck when the dogs bolted. The witness, left alone in standing corn, heard a loud scream approaching and was knocked down by a bent-over thing carrying a deer on its shoulder, which dropped the deer and fled. The group found the deer alive but severely injured with a twisted hind leg and broken antlers; a responding game warden shot it and released it to them, and dressing showed a dislocated hip, broken backbone and badly bruised meat.

In 1974 the witness and a companion camped on a small island in a marsh after setting turtle lines. Around 10:30 p.m. on a moonlit, still night they heard splashing and saw ripples, then observed a tall figure standing waist-deep about 75 yards away for about 45 seconds. The figure turned its head and walked easily through deep water and muck until out of sight, after which both left the area.

The witness was sent back through the woods to fetch matches while on a swimming outing with his brother and a friend. Halfway through the woods he noticed a large hairy form standing behind a wide oak tree about 30 feet away. He watched the shoulder, arm and part of a leg sway slightly for up to half a minute before freezing and then running home. He told no one what he saw for years, thinking it was a monster.

The witness and a companion were walking along railroad tracks beside the Ohio River in the evening when they heard brush being trampled on the hillside. They looked up and saw a very tall hair-covered figure about 25 yards away leaning out from behind a tree with an arm around the trunk. Both immediately ran back the way they had come.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

A teenager and an older neighbor spent the night on a boat at a marina to catch suspected vandals. During the night the teenager saw a huge hair-covered figure crouched at an overturned trashcan scooping garbage, then stand upright and stare briefly. The figure stepped over the trashcan, sprang up an embankment, and disappeared into brush, leaving disturbed dew, strewn garbage, and broken brush.

After rumors of a seven-foot figure stalking at night, four or five neighbor brothers lay on a sloped garage to watch. They heard footsteps and something walked up with its head above the garage and stared at them before they jumped off and ran inside.

Late at night the witness and a friend went downstairs for a snack and switched on a light by a large window that lit the backyard. They saw a large bipedal creature walking away from the house, which briefly turned its upper body toward the light before leaving the illuminated area. Both ran back to the bedroom and stayed there until morning, and the witness found large depressions in the grass the next day.
