Beside the trail one tree was pushed over with its root ball exposed, a sapling was snapped at a right angle and twisted, and another was bent into an arc with its top stuck in the soil. He photographed the trees and a researcher told him it was a Sasquatch trail marker.

The witness drove faster, saw green eyeshine in the taillights, and followed it for about two miles until it turned off into an old field.
