On a summer night in 1990 the witness walked up a field road near his home when he heard a loud whistle followed by screams from nearby ridges. As he fled back toward his house he heard another scream close by and was followed to the creek behind his house, where he heard heavy breathing, growling and bipedal footsteps. He fired a large amount of ammunition toward the sounds without seeing the source, then stayed inside overnight, and the next day found bullet damage to trees and a flattened depression but no blood or tracks.

The witness and a relative were taking a break from farm work to shoot targets on ice by a creek behind the farm. The witness noticed a large five-toed footprint in the ice, described as twice the size of a normal human foot, with a heel print on the opposite bank and no additional prints. The witness was hunting and walking back to a vehicle when they heard noises in brush and across a field. They crouched in brush and saw a large dark brown creature crouching across the field, which then stood erect, grunted, raised its left arm, and walked back into the woods. On a winter night in 1986-87 the witness was alone on his turn riding a three-wheeler through a snowy pasture near a wooded creek in Morgan County while a companion waited elsewhere. From about 30 yards away he watched a roughly 7-foot tall, dark-haired, roughly 400-lb figure walk across a narrow strip of pasture between two stands of woods. The figure looked toward him and then kept walking as if unconcerned.

The witness watched from a back bedroom through blinds as an animal pulled trash bags from cans and a burn barrel, scattering and rummaging through garbage. The guest looked up and saw a dog-like face with a white toothy grin and yellow eyes looking down through the upper pane, nose pressed to glass. He avoided the room, kept curtains closed, and the family moved that spring.

The guest, age 14, moved with his parents into a rented house outside Decatur in 1984. Over months in his large bedroom he experienced a picture and nail falling, drawer opening, clock resetting, lamp failing, scratching on the headboard, blanket pulled off and yanked across the room, feeling of someone sitting on the bed, warm spots, phone chirping even unplugged, breath blown in his ear, and being bounced on his bed off its frame. After moving his bed to the other window and clearing the original wall, activity subsided.

Two companions camped in a remote wooded area after clearing a small site and lighting a fire. For several hours something circled the camp a few yards away, producing walking and breathing sounds and a musky odor. One companion glimpsed the figure in firelight as a much taller and wider upright figure, and it followed them out and crossed a road in a few steps as they left.

On Christmas Eve evening the witness was driving north on a rural Illinois road when headlights revealed a tall, hair-covered figure standing in the roadway. The witness slowed to almost a complete stop, moved into the opposite lane to avoid hitting it, and observed it closely from inches away before driving on to turn around. When the witness returned about 1.5-2 minutes later, the figure was gone.

The witness went to the bottom of a hill near a relative's home at Canton Lake to smoke. After hearing a crushing and rustling noise, the witness saw a tall black bipedal being about twenty yards away that looked at the witness and raised its arms. The witness then ran back up the hill to the relative's home.
