Campers hear possible BF vocal in Allegheny NF 22 miles south of Warren
The witness and companions were camping in the forest and had been processing firewood and sitting by the fire. Around 6:30 p.m. two of them distinctly heard a loud, pronounced human-like whoop lasting several seconds, while a third companion heard something indistinct. A flashlight shined toward the sound revealed a large owl flying away, which they initially assumed was the source, but later comparison with local owl and coyote sounds left the witness unable to identify it. The witness reported feeling uneasy with a sense of presence in camp overnight without further unusual sounds.
Possible whoops and knocks heard from a home near Nottingham
Late at night the witness walked to his work vehicle to retrieve cigarettes and a phone. After closing the vehicle door he heard something strike a nearby building, followed by loud whooping calls that lasted a minute or two. He described the calls as closely matching reference whoop recordings he had found online.

The witness was sitting alone in a deer stand in very dark, rainy conditions before dawn when a musky odor was present. He heard a whistle followed by repeated whooping from different directions, along with slow walking sounds and large branches breaking, which faded after several minutes. He stayed in the stand and noticed the odor was gone after sunrise.

Two companions sitting on a pipeline corridor heard alternating bird-like calls and wood-knock sounds for about 20 minutes that grew louder and seemed to come from very close by. When they stood to look, they saw a tall grey-haired animal about 20-30 yards away staring at them. Both the witnesses and the animal immediately fled, with the animal crashing in a straight line uphill through the woods.

The guest and three college friends drove to a remote back road at night to make whoops and knocks as a fun outing. Something answered with similar whoops and knocks and approached as they moved into the woods. The guest briefly saw a hair-covered biped moving between trees and later all four watched eyeshine peer from behind a tree before fleeing to the car and driving back to college.
