The witness was camping with family when early-morning vocalizations described as growls leading to screams and whoops were heard repeating three times from a forested ravine. The family dog refused to leave camp and prolonged cracking of large downed branches was then heard for about ninety minutes without any animal being seen. After the cracking stopped abruptly, the dog investigated and normal animal sounds resumed.

The witness was archery hunting with his wife and son and had gathered back at their truck around 7 p.m. They heard loud whoop-like vocalizations from the treeline, and after the son imitated a whoop they heard louder responses from multiple directions continuing for several minutes. The witness stated the sounds were unlike any known animal, that the exchange was recorded on phones, and that no other people were in the area.

By morning the tent and tarp were found marked with a strong urine-like smell, and the tarp was left behind.

The witness was part of a demolitions training convoy descending to a staging area when three hair-covered bipedal creatures were seen watching from the middle of a quarry. The middle individual was tallest and stood still while the two smaller flankers rocked side to side. In the morning they looked for tracks but found too much forest litter to see any.
