The witness was changing a tire on his car at about 10PM when he heard powerful whooping calls from the woods behind his residence, followed by wood knocks. He said the calls resembled those he had heard on this site. He reported having heard primate-like calls from the same woods for about eighteen months and believes one or more animals are living there.

He went to the porch with a gun, heard one more loud call felt in his chest, fired into the ground, and it fell silent.
