Loud 'whoop' vocalizations heard
The witness and companions were setting off bottle rockets with loud music playing near a river late at night. They heard repeated rising whoop vocalizations that seemed about a mile away and grew louder as they continued. The surrounding forest was described as unusually quiet. A group camping above a swollen river heard mumbling voices and stick-breaking approaching, followed by loud chanting, shouting and stomping that shook a log seat and was taken as a demand to leave. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. Residents Awakened by Early Morning Vocalizations
The witness was woken by their mother after she heard a strange noise outside their Burney apartment. The witness waited on the porch and heard a very loud, guttural sequence of chirps and a scream, and noticed a pungent odor worse than skunk. No source was seen during a search, but the next morning a next-door neighbor said someone had been outside her elevated back window overnight.

The witness was fishing alone at dusk near camp at Fleming Lake when repeated distant undulating wailing calls were heard from a valley to the north/northeast. The calls came in five or six bouts of five to six rising-falling segments each over about a minute and were estimated to originate one to two miles away.
