Researchers retell an 18-year-old report of a helicopter logging crew harassed all summer at an abandoned ghost town. In a 24-hour period the boss and sons were chased off a mountainside, a water-truck driver saw eyeshine, and the boss saw a bear-like figure approach tree to tree, sending the crew to lock in camp.

Alone on a full-moon night the witness heard whoops from two directions, then alternating knocks and thumps for over an hour. Loud chatter erupted from behind the car in the swamp, followed by a tree fall and final whoop. Next day a fresh snapped tree and viewing window in brush were found.

They watched a figure slowly lean from behind a tree showing a cone-shaped head, shoulder and arm, withdraw, reappear, then a second similar figure appear about 20 to 25 feet away. Two campers with a child and a large dog told the guest they camped after hiking in. Around 1 a.m. in fog, the dog hid, growled, and stared into the forest. The men heard a clicking sound from one side and a whoop-like reply from the other side, repeated for a minute or more, then heard something large run off like a horse. The dog remained frightened and watched the woods while leaving.

During a group outing intended to call in creatures, multiple individuals closed in while vocal mimicry shifted suddenly to loud aggressive growls. Two or three figures emerged from brush and physically forced participants toward vehicles. The group scrambled to leave as one researcher passed close by the largest individual.

The witness and his partner parked in a refuge at night and made vocal calls. Heavy footsteps approached the van and a dark figure was seen through reeds. After leaving and returning, whoop calls were exchanged. The partner declined to return after that.

A young child reported a furry smelly cowman at the field edge, followed by an older sibling being followed by heavy footsteps and a father finding long coarse hair on a loosened fence wire. That evening the father and son were chased from the woods, night howls with whoops continued, and a large shape spoke and made faces at the bedroom window. The mother shot at an arm reaching for the child, the family fled, and returning days later found the house interior violently torn apart.

The father took his sons and dogs to swim in park pools when they smelled raw sewage and a pine tree broke into three pieces about 100 yards away. After moving into her grandmother's house as a caregiver, the Kentucky guest and her husband sat on the dark back porch and heard coyotes and dogs go silent. They then heard prolonged non-English chattering from one part of the field and a whooping sound from another part.

The witness, young daughter, and small dog walked an unlit road through wetland to the water. After ice-breaking triggered a heavy thud on one side, the return ice-break triggered overlapping whoops with chatter on the other side. The daughter then reported a large black man-like figure crossing the road ahead and staring at them; no tracks were found on frozen ground.

Around the witness's property the investigator summarizes ongoing reports of stick structures, tree knocks, howls, whoops, screams, intense odors, large and small footprints with 7-foot stride in a cornfield, and feelings of being watched without visual confirmation.

A deer hunter in a climbing stand watched brush moving about 200 yards away and saw a large dark form squatting and disturbing a tree. When his stand made noise it looked at him, stood on two legs and ran. He found a huge slide track, then heard a wood knock and a whoop from different directions and left, later refusing to return.
