The witness and a companion were at home late at night when they heard loud, deep, rhythmic calling from the woods behind the house. They described at least three separate voices calling back and forth and moving closer over about two hours, while dogs cowered and cats hid and other night sounds stopped. They could not identify the sounds as known animals and later felt they resembled whoop recordings attributed to Bigfoot.

He heard loud, rapid ape-like 'ooow' vocalizations from the swamp behind him, after which other animal sounds stopped and wildlife fled. He left the stand before dark and later reported finding no tracks on the soft sandy road.
