The witness was camped overnight in a remote forest clearing with his child while another camp was nearby. Around midnight the woods went silent and something large approached on two legs, walking around the tent and making contact along the roof. The witness stayed quiet in the tent holding a handgun until the visitor left toward the woods, with normal night sounds returning much later. In the morning no clear prints were found and the companion said he had heard movement.
Two teenage deer hunters have encounter while hunting
Two teenage hunters were in an enclosed ground-level deer stand when they noticed something approaching wild hogs. They watched for about 10 minutes as it moved crouched, scratched its head and made deer-like blowing sounds, then stood upright after hearing a shotgun clink, causing the hogs to flee. The witnesses fled on a 4-wheeler and one looked back to see it standing by a tree watching them leave.

A tall black hairy biped with a very human face appeared nearby, stared, roared, and exchanged whistles with another unseen individual. The witness fled to a truck, fired a warning shot that struck bark near its face, and saw a second creature on the logging road while driving away.

After calming down elsewhere, he drove back, noticed paired trails in dew leading into oak woods, and followed them to a tree where a tall hair-covered biped stepped out. The two stared at each other, the creature appeared amused then agitated, building to a vocal display and urinating. Believing he was about to be killed, the witness fired a handgun into its chest at close range; the creature bled from the wound and mouth, stood, and climbed down a bluff toward water, after which the witness left and later found the road closed.

The witness, then 18, had gone fishing at dawn near a lake and heard an unusually deep groan-growl from across the road. After driving away to calm down, he returned, parked, armed himself with a large-caliber pistol, and followed disturbed dew trails into oak woods. About six feet from an oak tree a tall hair-covered biped stepped out, exchanged prolonged looks, then appeared to work itself into an agitated vocalizing state while urinating. The witness fired at close range into its chest, saw heavy bleeding from the wound and mouth, and watched it clutch its chest, stand, and disappear over a bluff toward the water.

Late one evening in 1976, a neighbor arriving home reportedly found a large hairy dark man-like creature on his porch. The creature fled when headlights hit it and leaped over a six-foot fence. The neighbor's wife had been inside holding a pistol after hearing something pull on the screen door. The witness's father then saw the creature run and leap a wide creek, hearing a grunt on landing, before it disappeared.

As a youth hunting with a small dog, the witness followed the dog down a creek and found a long dark form lying in a dugout in the bank. Looking closer the witness saw feet, a bleeding leg with sand piled on it, breathing and grumbling, and a large hand thrown behind it like a resting person. Frightened, the witness carried the dog away quietly then ran home.

Two Large Creatures Were Seen Coming Out of Creek
As a child camping with family, the witness woke at night and stayed up to watch raccoons. Two large hair-covered creatures waded across a creek into the camp, growling and grunting while going through items left out. The frightened witness hid and remained still until they left the way they came, after which the raccoons returned.

At night with windows open, the witness heard heavy footsteps breaking limbs and crunching leaves approach the bedroom window, then loud breathing in and out. The witness was paralyzed with fear until the mother pulled the witness from bed. After something struck the back of the house hard, the witness, mother, and grandmother saw a huge brown-haired form blocking the dining room window before it moved sideways toward the bedroom.

The witness's grandmother was deer hunting on a hill and heard what she thought was a buck snorting behind a thicket. When it did not emerge, something screamed very loudly at her. She was so frightened she tumbled down the hill and hurt herself.

On his first trip to the Louisiana area the guest sat all night in a tripod stand over a clear-cut meadow on a fence line. About midnight he heard heavy bipedal footsteps approach from behind without a light, then cross a barbed-wire fence. Loud clicking began and was answered from both sides as the animals moved away through brush.

At a remote drop-zone field, the neighbor spent about 72 hours seeing black human-like shadows moving in the wood line. Other soldiers also shouted about seeing something huge running away. At night he heard unexplained shrieks and yowls, and on the last night something large leaned over his tent breathing before walking away.

After noticing total silence, smelling a strong odor and feeling a rumbling, a large black canine-like creature stood up 13-14 feet away and turned to look at him. He raised his rifle, the creature leaped about 20 feet, ran on all fours at extreme speed and vanished into a narrow thicket, after which he backed out deeply shaken.

During the first night they heard a fast-moving loud vocalization, prolonged limb-snapping, stomping and tree-shaking across a field. Later the guest sensed being watched, investigated a thicket and encountered an overpowering ammonia-like odor that he interpreted as a threat display.

A family of four hiking with a daughter in an off-road wheelchair encountered a gray-black animal on all fours that approached then left. A tall seven-foot figure then ran through chasing what they believed was a hog, which was heard squealing and then going quiet. A smaller all-fours figure with unusual head hair then approached them snarling until a whistle from the woods called it away, and the family fled.
