A driver stopped for a deer sprinting across the road at sunset and then saw a tall hair-covered creature stop near the road edge before turning and walking back into pine forest. As the driver moved forward with the window down, a strong musty odor and loud deep grunts were noticed, with the creature seen about 50 feet inside the treeline. The driver then left the area.

The witness entered the woods before daylight to deer hunt and heard grunting and heavy movement walking down a ridge behind him. The witness claims he was fishing alone at night when he heard two large animals fighting on a hillside across the water. The sounds lasted about 30 minutes and included growling, hollering, and breaking limbs as the animals moved toward him. When they reached a clearing he lit them with a spotlight, saw two tall lean hairy bipeds, and watched them sprint uphill into the forest. He then left the area and says he will not return alone.

While deer hunting in late afternoon the witness heard yipping followed by whooping, yelling and loud approaching bipedal footsteps. A large dark hair-covered biped emerged from a draw about seventy yards away, walked past at an angle, then turned upslope into brush and out of view. The figure was reportedly visible for about two minutes with travel sounds heard briefly afterward, and the site was revisited the next morning for a height comparison.

Around 1-2 a.m. the witness went to retrieve bags from a car near a carport and heard a snorting grunt. Backlit by a carport light, he saw a large wide shape that vocalized again, circled with him as he retrieved a rifle, then left toward the woods. Next morning he found disturbed ground suggesting large bipedal steps.

A group of six campers sitting around a campfire at night heard strange low and high-pitched sounds approaching through the woods. They scanned with a powerful spotlight and saw a hairy upright figure partly hidden behind a tree about 20-30 yards away, with yellow eye glow. It stayed motionless for 30 to 60 seconds and was gone after the light was briefly turned away.

Two companions parked a motorcycle on a dirt road late at night and walked toward a nearby residence when they heard loud heavy footsteps and brush crashing approaching from a swampy area. They ran back to the motorcycle and fled as the sounds and heavy breathing closed in. As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.

The witness stopped a car by a wooded road to urinate. A hairy man-like creature approached to within three feet while snorting and grunting and holding a small limb-like object, then walked away. The witness fled in the car and saw the creature standing at the road edge in the rear-view mirror.

The witness was walking alone during a work break to look for arrowheads when he heard movement and grunts near a creek. He briefly saw a large dark man-shaped figure about 6 to 7 feet tall standing in dense woods before it turned and crashed away. He left quickly and initially tried to explain it as a stray horse.

The witness and four companions camped overnight on a mountain ridge to celebrate finishing a music recording. Late at night they heard clear bipedal footsteps approaching up a steep slope, followed by breaking limbs and circling around their camp outside the firelight for over half an hour. They also heard loud exhaled huffs that frightened them. They abandoned camp and returned the next day for their gear.

The witness and a companion were waiting on a riverbank at night to help pull rescue canoes from the water. After hearing brush-breaking and grunting sounds for some time, the witness was rushed by a large upright figure that came within about 10 feet while making loud vocalizations. After a loud heavy exhalation, the witness yielded the deer and left.

On night walks out he heard steps pacing him and stopping when he stopped. On night shifts napping in graveyards he heard loud wood knocks and odd owl-like calls from thick swamps.

Arriving late at a camp in an old state park, the witness gave a loud call and immediately received a loud scream from less than a hundred yards uphill. A female then gave repeated rally calls while retreating with young. A companion captured the sequence on a recorder, later preserved only as a copy.
