Four telephone-line workers heard ape-like high-pitched sounds while working on an isolated road lined with pines and brush. After the witness mimicked the sounds, a large hairy biped crossed the road about 60-70 yards away and paced back and forth, repeatedly stopping in the road to stare at the witness. The witness described upright human-like walking, long arms at the sides, hips wider than shoulders, and an extremely large foot. The animal eventually left into thick bushes leading to heavy fir.

The witness was picking brush for sale near an old skid road when he heard loud growls, squeals, and brush breaking. He climbed a side hill and saw a still dark bear draped over a vine maple, then noticed a very large dark-brown biped standing about 50 feet away with its back turned. The creature turned and stared with red glowing eyes, prompting the witness to flee to his truck screaming, after which he refused to return to the woods and his crew left the area.

The witness and his brother were deer hunting and sitting separated in old-growth forest when they heard loud unusual sounds two or three times. They reunited and confirmed both had heard the sounds but could not identify them. Late at night the witness was inside a trailer in the woods when a loud, strange bellowing was heard twice from the woods. The witness stepped outside onto the porch to listen and judged the sound came from 100 to 150 yards away and from a very large, nocturnal animal. After waiting, the witness walked up a nearby dirt road with a flashlight but found nothing.

The witness and a companion were elk hunting from a ridge when they heard soft murmuring voices they took for approaching hunters. They then heard heavy thumps retreating down the brushy ridge and briefly saw a big black object moving fast into the trees on the flat below. Both initially considered a black bear but later felt that explanation did not fit the vocal sounds and movement.

The witness described two large males standing motionless, a thin female with a hump who vocalized and wrung her hands, and a smaller child-sized figure, before the light faded and the pair left the area to finish work later.

The witness was fishing near Goose Lake by Trout Lake and took shelter in his tent during a noon thunderstorm. He heard one loud, powerful vocalization estimated 50 to 100 yards away that echoed down the canyon and felt in his chest. After the rain stopped he smelled a wet-dog and urine-like odor for about an hour.

In late fall 1997 the witness and her husband were camping in the Mt Adams Wilderness Area when around 4 a.m. they heard a loud strange vocalization from 800 to 1000 meters away. The sound combined roaring, warbling and guttural yodeling with a high-pitched scream element and was repeated four or five times before all went quiet. Neither witness saw an animal.

The father saw a brown, long-haired biped from the shoulders down standing in old cuttings, which grabbed a tree and swung behind it to keep the tree between them. The son reported hearing a high-pitched scream and grunting that the father could not hear. They searched the spot but found no sign, noting an unusual absence of deer and elk sign.
Sounds heard answered by another more distant source
The witness reports hearing loud cries from west of the home over a period from early 1996 to mid-1998, always late at night. Each cry was answered by a more distant cry, and on one night the sound was close enough to wake the witness from sleep. No visual encounter is described; the witness says the sounds matched recordings presented on a television program about Bigfoot investigation.

As they hurried back down the trail with a feeling of being followed, they heard a loud scream behind them, then additional screams from the west and southeast. The witness was sleeping on the west bank of Chopaka Lake in June 1994 when awakened around 2-3am by a very loud, long call echoing across the lake. The call was described as lasting about 10 seconds each time and shifting from a low bellow to a snarl to a high screech, coming from the northwest corner of the lake. The witness's companions slept through the sound that night.

From behind a parked vehicle the witness heard two grunts, a loud low scream, and repeated chest-beating sounds, but did not see the source. During a nighttime military training bivouac near Cat Lake, the witness heard huffing and barking sounds approaching down a moonlit hillside with shaking and falling trees. A large upright man-like form with broad shoulders stepped into the clearing, huffed loudly, then ran upright across the clearing with swinging arms and heavy steps felt in the ground. The platoon woke, packed rapidly, and moved away, and a daylight check found knocked-over trees and disturbed soil but no prints.

The witness was teaching a companion how to camp without fire or lights in wooded terrain when they realized they were surrounded by several large upright figures. The figures remained mostly still, with only minor sounds, while the pair talked and then backed out with firearms ready without firing at the figures. One figure was later seen leaping from the roadside high into a tree. The witness returned the next day to recover gear, found extensive large tracks, followed fresh tracks, and encountered one individual at close range.

The witness had moved to a remote rural property to help a relative with horses. After months of unease, inner voices warning away from the stable, horses acting strangely, and a sense of being watched while watching television, the witness awoke at night to shaking, heavy breathing and snoring mimicry outside. Looking from an upstairs window the witness saw a very tall hairy apelike form peering into a lower window that turned, vocalized, and frightened the witness into a corner until daylight, after which the witness left the property within days.
Sighting by two hikers
Two companions on a hiking and camping trip followed grunting and rock-crashing sounds along a remote game trail. Through dense woods they saw bulky upright figures, first taken for a standing bear but judged to be something unfamiliar with a large upper body and no visible neck. When they returned to the spot the figures were gone, leaving stacked large rocks, broken branches and a powerful dung-like smell, after which they left the area.
Footsteps in Washington (1987)
In 1987 the witness was deer hunting and camping in eastern Washington. After the group left him alone at a logging road camp, he heard bipedal footsteps approach his tent at night, felt something strike the tent, then heard movement near his car and a log being torn apart in a gully before fleeing by vehicle to the highway. A night or two later he returned with a hunting companion and both heard multiple chattering, tonal and clicking vocalizations from different directions surrounding the camp.
