Youth hears vocalizations and is trailed while fishing on White River
As a child the witness walked upstream out of sight of relatives while fishing. He heard deep grunting sounds and saw thin trees shaking as something unseen moved through dense brush behind him. When he walked back, the movement and branch-breaking sounds followed him step for step and stopped when he reached his relatives. He never saw the source of the sounds and movement.

Two large hairy creatures ambushed deer on a game trail, killing two does instantly by breaking their necks. The larger creature then approached the stand, smelled the witness, looked up and vocalized loudly while touching the stand and holding a deer, then both left silently into the woods. The witness was left in shock and had to be carried back to the cabin by his father.

In the early 80s the father camped alone at a secluded bow camp and heard something large walk in talking gibberish like a drunk man and root through camp. It circled the tent and pressed a finger down on the canvas, leaving a half-moon cut, then left toward a second babbling voice on the hill. On a later return visit a green aspen blocked the road with no wind and structures were noted.

Years later while working in law enforcement, the witness drove to a remote trailhead to pick up a fire-watcher ranger during a dry fall with active forest fires. Concerned when the ranger did not appear after dark, he walked up the trail with a flashlight and rifle and found the ranger hiding by a rock. Together they watched a tall, long-armed figure with large reflective eyes at the far edge of a clearing for an extended period before it crouched, raked grass, backed into the woods, and circled away crashing through brush. The ranger later said he had already encountered the same figure on the trail, where it screamed at him, caused him to drop his kit, and threw his bag, which was never recovered.

Behind dumped washers and dryers the witness saw a hair-covered figure that stood upright, grunted, and shook a sapling. The witness fled east, looked back to see the figure on the trail, then watched it walk back into the treeline.

The witness returned to a tree stand near a road to bow hunt deer. After using the woods behind the stand, the witness heard an extremely loud roar from that spot and froze. About twenty minutes later the same sound came from woods on the left without anything seen, and the witness waited then left.

Three bowhunting companions were camped overnight in an abandoned barn. After the witness made rabbit-distress calls with cellophane, a distant low moan grew into a loud mournful roar twice, followed by total silence from dogs and insects. The men remained silent in their sleeping bags until morning and then packed up and left without hunting.

After firing into a squirrel nest, they heard an extremely loud roar twice that seemed to shake the woods. Something vocalized in the distance and exchanged calls for about half an hour, with what sounded like three individuals approaching to about 30 yards below in cover but never emerging. Feeling uneasy and unsure what they were, the witness ran about a mile back toward the truck and later described the sounds as a mix of chimpanzee, loon and coyote.

One evening in September 1978 around 10:30 p.m., the witness and his wife were going to bed when something was noticed outside their bedroom window. After turning on the light, they reported seeing three bipedal creatures with widely spaced orange-rimmed eyes peering through the screen, one stooping to look in.
