The witness had been dropped on the Indiana side of the Ohio River to hunt for arrowheads and stopped to rest and eat in a runoff channel. Two small human-like figures about three feet tall, dressed in breechcloths and leggings, walked around the edge into view. After a brief buzzing or humming sound and mutual staring, both turned and walked away without alarm.

The witness was working with a pipeline crew exposing a remote valve site over three days. On the first day a coworker reported a dark figure walking on the cleared right-of-way up the ridge. The next day the witness hiked up the same ridge alone, heard two loud ground-shaking stomps followed by a very loud guttural vocalization, and fled downhill. The following morning the soiled sock the witness had discarded on the ridge was found placed on the backhoe track at the job site below.

In the middle of the night they heard splashing crossing the river approaching the tent, then close vocalizations like grunts and talking. While walking out on a remote logging road after discovering flat tires, the witness confronted a black bear that kept approaching despite shouting. A large hairy biped rushed down the hill on all fours, landed in the road and slid, causing the bear to flee. The biped then stood, stared, and bluff-charged twice with loud vocalizations until the witness fled on foot and was later picked up by drivers in a pickup.

During an overnight stop at a roadside rest between Redding and Mt. Lassen, the witness escorted his ill spouse to the restroom in the middle of the night. He heard many dogs barking loudly, then a loud yell after which the barking stopped abruptly leaving silence. He reported seeing and smelling nothing, keeping the experience to himself until morning.

The witness became lost while hiking west off Rux Road and spent about 12 hours traveling through forest and waist-deep swamp. Around midday in a bog near a wilderness lake he found four to five large human-like footprints with distinct toes in the mud. Later that day in dense brush he heard strange grunting sounds he could not see, then reached a dirt road and got a ride home.

In the morning the witness saw a trail crossing the campsite, and years later both the witness and the former spouse said the sounds matched a published recording labeled 'Scream.'

While hunting moose by ATV the witness stopped on a trail for a snack while a companion rode ahead to scout. After hearing brush movement and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a tall, muscular, dark-haired biped step onto the trail, look toward the companion's direction and then at the witness, sniff and grunt, then walk silently across a meadow into thick brush. After the companion returned they found only indistinct marks and disturbed vegetation, then heard a single loud crack like wood being struck and fled the area.

The creature remained behind a tree for about 15 minutes, peeking out at the witness and appearing to smile. The witness and companions returned at night to the same lakeside spot where they had been frightened the night before. They heard a distant roar that suddenly sounded a few feet away, lit the area with a spotlight, and saw a tall upright creature with its back to them that ran and then paused. The creature roared again when shot at and pushed over a green cottonwood before the group left.

A large upright man-like form with broad shoulders stepped into the clearing, huffed loudly, then ran upright across the clearing with swinging arms and heavy steps felt in the ground. The platoon woke, packed rapidly, and moved away, and a daylight check found knocked-over trees and disturbed soil but no prints.

A week later the witness returned to the same woods with a relative and dogs. Footsteps followed them and stopped when they stopped, then something circled them whooping and making gibberish sounds while another answered from the right. Trees sounded like they were being ripped up and the dogs fled the area.

After finishing a late shift, a man walked his large dog on a different route near power lines to a road lit by a streetlight. The dog trembled as a high-pitched voice repeatedly said I want you. A small hairy erect being stepped into the light, beckoned, and the man and dog quickly left.

The witness and four companions camped overnight on a mountain ridge to celebrate finishing a music recording. Late at night they heard clear bipedal footsteps approaching up a steep slope, followed by breaking limbs and circling around their camp outside the firelight for over half an hour. They also heard loud exhaled huffs that frightened them. They abandoned camp and returned the next day for their gear.

The witness was teaching a companion how to camp without fire or lights in wooded terrain when they realized they were surrounded by several large upright figures. The figures remained mostly still, with only minor sounds, while the pair talked and then backed out with firearms ready without firing at the figures. One figure was later seen leaping from the roadside high into a tree. The witness returned the next day to recover gear, found extensive large tracks, followed fresh tracks, and encountered one individual at close range.
