Father and son have possible encounter in a deer blind near Woodbine
The witness and his son were deer hunting from a blind in darkness before dawn. After the son woke the sleeping witness, they heard something large moving fast through brush behind the blind. It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.

The witness parked to check two close trail cameras and felt strong pressure and dread. After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. It ducked to a squat and shuffled quickly as the witness armed the camera and ran to the road, then drove home shaken.
Possible daytime encounter by a family hiking near Lake Cushman
The witness hiked a loop trail near Lake Cushman with three family members in late morning. The group heard a mournful 8-10 second howl/groan and about 30 minutes later encountered a strong skunk- and ammonia-like odor near a creek bridge on both sides of the trail. They also noticed unusual uprooted mushrooms along the trail. No creature was seen.
Friends experience possible intimidation outside of Greenville
The witness and a female companion were hiking in a wooded area in the morning when they heard very loud rustling like a small tree being shaken, followed by a long low howl, growls, grunts, snorts and squeals. The same sequence repeated a couple minutes later. They did not see what made the sounds and left within minutes.

The witness stayed with his young son on a multi-day group expedition and went to check a camera trap in the morning. The son ran ahead, collapsed and became unresponsive while the witness felt nausea, loss of focus, and a deep vibrational sound. The witness then saw a large dark hairy figure, fired shots to drive it off, heard it scream and get answered, and evacuated the son for medical care.

The witness and three friends went ghost hunting at a remote cemetery in a forest late at night. After hearing grunting and footsteps paralleling them on a footpath, the friends fled while the witness turned to face a very tall dark figure swaying side to side that changed expression on eye contact and huffed, exposing a foul breath odor. When a friend shouted his name, the figure leapt away, and the witness ran to the car.
Hunter hears chimp-like sounds north of the North Pass ski resort
The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.
Possible nighttime encounter by a couple camping in the Jemez Mountains
The witness and a companion were sleeping in their vehicle at a forest campsite. During the night they heard something rubbing against the vehicle, knocking items over, and rummaging around camp, including toppling chairs and a canopy. The companion, while lying down, reported seeing a tall black shape pass the window and leave away from roads. In the morning the chairs were overturned and the canopy was found upside down about 20 feet away, with otherwise little disturbance and no clear prints.
Nighttime observation involving a pond on a farm near Metropolis
On Labor Day weekend 2010 at a family farm, the witness and companions shone a high-powered spotlight on a creature standing chest-deep in a pond about 30-40 yards away. They watched it move, pick objects from the water and chew on them until the light died. Immediately after, they heard a splash, movement through woods, and repeated series of booms followed by loud bellowing that seemed to answer from another part of the property.
Possible nighttime encounter while camping at Shi Shi Beach
Three backpackers sleeping on a beach woke around 3:45 a.m. when their dog ran to a nearby ridge and grappled with something. The witness ran over and saw an enormous figure in the dark that stayed silent when challenged. A companion later saw a torso-like figure put a hand on a rock at the top of the ridge and disappear, and reported an elk-like moaning sound during the struggle.
Wood knocks, vocalizations and possible footprint found in rural cemetery near Shelbyville
Over a couple months of visits to a small rural cemetery, the witness and companions repeatedly heard wood knocks surrounding them, logs or objects being thrown, and a walnut thrown back toward them. They also heard growls, hissing, grunts, yells and screams on separate occasions, and once heard a large unseen thing charge to the cemetery edge then go silent. They never saw the source, reported no departing footsteps, and described a persistent feeling of being watched and warned from entering the woods.
Family camping at Shawnee State Forest has possible encounter
A family camping at a wooded campsite was awakened around 4 a.m. by strange calling sounds and heavy footsteps behind their tent. After shouting, they heard heavy stomping retreat into the woods and fled to their car. They returned later that morning, heard heavy breathing and had a stick thrown toward them before retreating again, later finding disturbed garbage and an opened food packet before leaving.
Camper experiences possible aggressive night time display west of Bragg Creek
A solo camper spent the night on a plateau west of Bragg Creek during rain and thunderstorms. Through the night the camper heard log-banging, close movement, breathing, branch breaking, a tarp strike, a grunt, a boulder throw and a tree being pushed over, and glimpsed an upright figure walking downhill toward a creek. At dawn the camper heard loud bird-like calls from multiple directions, and found large grass impressions the next morning.
Hikers observe and cast possible fresh footprints in Leominister State Forest
A couple hiking in the woods heard a close grunt and brief heavy movement, then continued on. About an hour later on the return leg they found six fresh, very deep human-like barefoot prints with deer tracks in hard mud where they had seen nothing earlier. They took cell phone photos, grew uneasy and disoriented, and left by a different path without seeing any animal or person.

Three companions walked to a boat ramp on a river at night to watch the water. They heard movement in brush across the water, then heard two rock impacts nearby on the bank and in the river. They then heard an unfamiliar ape-like yowl and huffing sounds from the same direction. They saw nothing and left the area immediately.
Mushroom hunter hears vocalizations and finds footprints near Jubilee College State Park
The witness was hunting with a dog on a sunny afternoon when the dog became agitated and a strong odor was noticed. The witness heard grunt-like noises followed twice by a loud scream or yell, plus cracking and movement in trees and brush, while the dog returned frightened with raised hair. After driving to a more open area across a shallow creek, the witness found two very large barefoot-like footprints that seemed too large and out of place to be human.
Hikers near Eatonville surprise a sasquatch drinking from the river
The witness and two companions were hiking to a waterfall when they noticed a strong musky odor. Near the middle fall they saw a large dark furred creature crouched over the river as if drinking. After staring at them briefly it made a throat-clearing sound and walked away bipedally into the trees, pausing to look back.

The witness was awakened at home in the early morning by very loud, deep screams from very close outside. The sounds shifted toward the woods and continued as back-and-forth exchanges between two sources, including grunts, barks, cries and shorter screams over many minutes. The witness's three dogs cowered by the door rather than chasing, and the sounds eventually receded north into the woods until they stopped.
Possible vocalizations heard in the Bradshaw Mountains (w/recordings)
The witness was camping alone overnight and heard repeated strange calls late at night over about 35 minutes that seemed to move closer. The sounds did not match known local animals to the witness. The witness captured part of the sounds on a digital voice recorder and searched the area the next day without finding other campers.
Vocalization (2010)
The guest recounts sitting with two companions around a large campfire at a site called Frog Pond late at night. They heard something walking in the trees across the road, followed by an extremely loud yell that startled the group. One companion ran for his vehicle and another for a recorder while the guest called back, then stayed overnight with no further activity.
