EXPEDITION REPORT for incidents on Spring 2024 MN trip
An organized multi-day expedition with 18 participants was conducted in a heavily forested area with swamps and rivers. Multi-witness daylight sighting 3.5 miles SE of Sixmile Lake (Leech Lake Reservation)
Two relatives driving slowly while hunting for grouse were alerted to a large dark figure in a grassy ditch beside a side road. They backed up and watched the upper body of the tall, long-armed figure move slowly upright into the woods. At the site they noticed a strong foul odor and minor ground disturbance but no clear footprints on packed gravel. Later the same day a game warden told them that spot was known for similar reports.
Biped sighted crossing road at night near Lake Bemidji
The witness was riding as a passenger while driving south toward town at night when an upright figure crossed the two-lane road in the headlights of their car and an oncoming car. The witness saw only the upper body and pumping arms as it crossed the road in about two and a half strides and then disappeared. The driver also saw something but was unsure what it was.
Daylight sighting while scouting hunting locations near Skibo
The witness and a companion were on foot scouting hunting ground in daylight when the witness noticed a large reddish-brown figure moving in the timber nearby. The witness saw only from the mid-shoulders up for a few seconds before turning toward the companion and looking back to find it gone. The companion did not see the figure but heard movement and footfalls, and a strong musky odor was noticed as the figure moved away.

The witness hiked into a remote marsh-edged lake in northern Minnesota to ice fish. He saw a dark head and shoulders rise above tall reeds, disappear, then reappear as two figures watching him silently for about 20 minutes. He walked to the reeds afterward and found no snowmobile tracks or sounds, and later concluded they must have been very tall to be visible above the reeds.

The witness and her son were driving at night when the car headlights revealed a large hair-covered creature standing still in the middle of the road. They stopped and watched it for two to three minutes from about 200 feet away while it looked toward the river and never looked at the vehicle. The encounter ended when the witness turned into a nearby driveway and continued to a relative's house.

The witness and a companion were anchored in a boat at night hearing loud bipedal footsteps approach through riverside woods. He switched on bright boat headlights and saw a very large, dark, hairy ape- and human-like figure at the tree line about 20 to 30 feet away that looked shocked and tried to hide behind a cottonwood. The witness panicked, pulled anchor and fled, later revisiting to estimate the figure was at least a foot to a foot and a half taller than himself with massive girth.
Two witnesses have a daylight encounter in their camp near Spring Valley
The witness and a relative were camping on their property when the relative spotted a hairy man-like figure near the campsite. The witness then saw the upper half of the figure as it stood and walked away toward dense trees and a ravine, later finding large five-toed footprints in a creek bed. Later that day the witness heard a high-pitched scream while alone on a dirt bike, and that night something large reportedly ran past the tent while a neighbor's dog chased it.
Daylight sighting by a couple, on a frozen lake near Centerville
A couple walking with their two dogs noticed a large dark figure crossing a frozen lake toward an island. They watched it move quickly through tall cattails from about 350 yards down to about 150 yards before it entered woods and disappeared. The witness tried to approach for a closer look but the dogs refused to follow, and he found no tracks in the hard-packed snow and ice.

The witness was on a multi-day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters with two friends. After leaving their shared tent late at night to urinate, he urinated on what he thought was a rock. The shape rose rapidly to about three to four feet tall, made a disgusted grunt or exhale, and ran away bipedally, leaving the witness in intense panic.

Two people driving west toward work observed a creature moving east on the roadside, running while bobbing in and out of the ditch. They slowed for a closer look but could not identify it. They reported it was not a bear or human and was unfamiliar to them despite knowing local animals. The area was described as swampy.

Two companions hauled garage trash to a brush burn pile near woods after dark and tended a large fire. They heard running around them in the dark and loud tree-limb breaking, then saw a tall dark figure move along the woods edge and duck in. They fled on the tractor and did not return that night.

The witness and a companion were fishing from shore at a remote northern campground when they watched a tall, reddish-brown, hairy creature stand and walk down an embankment on a peninsula. After discussing the sighting and finding nearby cabins boarded and barricaded, they heard heavy footsteps and a loud growl escalating to a scream near their tent that night. They spent the night in their truck and left early the next morning.
Teen has a daylight encounter while hunting near Big Lake, Bemidji
The witness was deer hunting from a ridge overlooking a cedar swamp when he noticed a black head repeatedly appearing above 6-7 foot tall cedars at a distance. The head was visible intermittently for 10 to 15 minutes, moving as if foraging, while the surrounding woods were unusually quiet. He first thought it was a bear but concluded it was something else because of its height, head shape and sustained upright posture, leaving when it grew dark.

The main witness was hunting near a remote lake when a creature crossed the path a short distance ahead without noticing the witness. The witness returned home agitated and reluctant to discuss what was seen. A companion who was present reportedly saw the same thing.

The witness was hunting deer and after a misfire on a deer entered a clearing. He noticed a dark man-like figure to his left that turned away and walked upright into dense brush. He left the area without looking for tracks and never returned to that spot.

While hiking, the witness claimed to see a manlike creature on an island in a bog. Tracks were also reported from the island and attributed to a district forester, with the claim that deep snow and temperatures would have prevented a human from traveling there and surviving.
Husband and wife have bedtime visitors at their window near Emily
One evening in September 1978 around 10:30 p.m., the witness and his wife were going to bed when something was noticed outside their bedroom window. After turning on the light, they reported seeing three bipedal creatures with widely spaced orange-rimmed eyes peering through the screen, one stooping to look in. The visitors then made a loud vocal sound and left walking bent forward.
Witness recalls seeing a Sasquatch looking in the door of his parents' cabin when he was a young boy
The witness reports that at around 9-10 p.m. one night in July in 1977 or 1978, when they were about five or six years old, they saw a sasquatch looking in through the door of their cabin while they looked out at it.
