The caller says at fourteen while deer hunting he waited alone on a riverbank in fog. Something came out of the river about fifty feet away, walked upright and dark like a bear but with rounded primate ears. It moved branches with a hand, sniffed his incoming trail, then angled off. He was terrified and did not tell his father for years.
Boy sees a bigfoot while clearing land
As a teenager plowing bottomland alone, the witness stalled his tractor while turning under a tree. He then noticed a large dark bipedal figure along a distant fence line leaning side to side and moving a branch aside as if looking at him. After watching briefly he fled, managed to restart the tractor, and left; when he looked back the figure was gone.

The witness's father and grandfather were out poaching deer at night. They lit something with a spotlight that went into the brush. Both agreed it was standing upright and walking on two legs, and discussed it in shock back in the kitchen.

In 1978 the witness walked about a mile into the woods to a pin-oak flat and saw a gray, gorilla-like figure lying under a pine across the flat. He used trees for cover to stalk from about 100 yards to 50-75 yards, but it disappeared without him seeing it leave. He later found mashed grass and a strong animal odor at the spot and noted a complete absence of other wildlife.

A hitchhiker reported encountering a Bigfoot-like creature in a lightly wooded area south of Belleview in darkness. The creature was described as taller than the six-foot witness, brown and black in color, with a horrible garbage-like odor. The witness arrived before sunrise on opening day to bow-hunt from a tree stand at the edge of a bean field. While in the stand the witness heard loud bipedal footsteps moving through dense saplings and then saw a tall hair-covered figure standing about 20 yards away. The two stared at each other for several minutes before the figure walked away, after which the witness fled to a companion's vehicle and did not return.
Memory told of a scary, daytime encounter while frog hunting near Ranger
In 1977 two companions hunting frogs at a remote pond heard a roar and saw trees moving. One saw a large brown hairy form partly hidden behind a cedar tree and swaying. Both fled on foot while hearing heavy thuds, and one saw a large rock bouncing nearby. A few days later they returned and found a cleared limb bed and a limb torn from a mesquite tree, but no footprints due to rocky ground.

The witness and a relative were fishing and camping in a narrow willow canyon at dusk and noticed unusual silence and a feeling of being watched. While sitting by a fire, the companion stared toward the road and the witness then saw a tall dark hairy face peering through willows about 30-40 feet away. The figure then crashed through the creek and willows up the hillside out of sight, after which the pair left hastily.

The witness and two companions were on horseback to put up horses at night near a town dump and fairgrounds. They observed a black standing figure but could not see a face despite fairly good visibility from stars and lights. The next day they returned and found dry grass flattened where the figure had stood. The witness noted bears frequent the area but judged this was not a bear.

Across the bed the witness saw a large light-brown hair-covered ape-like creature in a crouched position that moved quietly into bushes and out of view. The witness ran back to camp and returned with a relative, who noted a deep depression at the spot but no further sign of the animal.

The witness was staying with relatives in a secluded hollow and watching television late at night when a pony in a nearby corral became agitated. The witness and a cousin went outside and saw a very tall, broad creature moving away from the corral, stepping over a fence and fleeing across a road and creek up a hillside, seeing only its back. The next morning they found only a dirt slide where it had climbed, and learned a relative's chained dog nearby had disappeared that night.

Two brothers were gathering firewood near a lake at dusk when they heard heavy footsteps and crashing in dense brush. The writer saw the bushes shaking but no animal, while the brother, 10 to 15 feet away, saw a large dark-brown head moving rapidly above the brush. They fled in their truck and crashed into a tree on the way back to camp.

The witness rode a motorcycle to a pond at the edge of a field to look for amphibians. While walking around the pond, the witness heard cracking from the opposite treeline and briefly saw a large dark shaggy form break a branch and disappear into the forest. The witness reports that during the summer of 1977 something repeatedly came around the family home north of Dark Lake, disturbing a horse, splashing at the lake edge, and prompting nighttime pursuit with gunfire. Multiple family members, guests and neighbors reportedly heard sounds and caught glimpses over the summer, including a daylight sighting of a large reddish creature eating raspberries.

They retreated to a bedroom without curtains where they heard breathing and scratching and saw a hairy hand against the window screen. The companion fired two shots that missed, and the figure ran away. A sheriff who responded found bullet holes but no blood or footprints.
