Three fishermen watched by "something"
In 1982 three companions were fishing along a river when they noticed an absence of birds and wildlife and a feeling of being watched. They then observed a figure watching them from a wooded ridge 50 to 75 yards away for about 45 minutes. When they left, the figure followed them at a distance as they walked about a mile back to the truck, during which they also noticed a faint dead-like smell.

The witness and a relative were walking home after skating when the witness noticed movement and a large brown shape in the bushes at a distance. Near a path fork, the witness found a very large human-like footprint in snow that appeared to lead toward where the shape had been seen. Frightened, the two ran home and never discussed the incident.
Rocks thrown at group of summer campers
The witness and about twenty other campers were sleeping on a beach during an overnight canoe trip to an island. After dark, rocks were repeatedly thrown hard and accurately at the group, continuing through the night until dawn and frightening many campers. The witness and a companion briefly saw a fleeting human-like figure running along the treeline toward the group before rejoining the others and sheltering behind driftwood.

The witness was working farm ground alone over two consecutive days in early spring. On the first day the witness saw a dark crouched figure thought to hold something, with two smaller dark figures back in the treeline near the river cut bank. On the next pass the following day the witness saw a very tall gray shaggy figure lumbering across the field toward the river. The witness later connected the location to local stories of the Butter Street Monster and never saw the figures again.

The figure stayed motionless and silent while the witness watched its bulk, stooped posture, one clenched hand, and eyes. While staying at a farm, two children had a rock tossed at them in a clearing and were herded home by dogs. Over following months they heard screams and knocks, found a large footprint with ridges, a distressed horse, and disturbed hay resembling a nest in the barn loft. In mid-winter the witness saw a curious dark-haired face looking in a basement window, and in spring the father returned from a short walk to grab firearms and forbid solo trips into the woods.
Whoop in Texas (1982)
The witness, then about 11, went with his father to a surveyor's home in deep East Texas and followed the surveyor's young son down a thin trail behind the house to a deadfall. The son gave whooping calls, after which the witness heard approaching footsteps, heavy breathing like a horse, a deep word-like vocalization and a powerful percussive sound, then breaking limbs. The witness fled back to the house as a tall dark figure ran alongside through the brush, stopping when he screamed for his father.

Three companions were night-fishing from a log on a river about 1 a.m. when large splashes and watermelon-sized rocks thrown from the opposite bank soaked them. In dim lantern light they saw two huge figures standing on a ledge across the uncrossable river, swaying, with glowing greenish eyes. They shouted at the figures, another rock was thrown near them downstream, and they fled on foot to their vehicle.

The witness was deer hunting on a mountain ridge in the morning when separated from companions. He heard brush crashing and saw a very large black hairy biped moving downhill through tall oak brush toward a trail and into the forest, smelling a strong musky odor. He watched it through his rifle scope but did not shoot, then left by a road while hearing movement alongside and firing once to scare it.

The witness and relatives were sleeping in lean-tos at a family hunting camp when the witness was awakened by shouting and gunfire. A relative said a tall, hairy figure had loomed over the shelter and then fled into the woods with loud crashing sounds. The group reported a strong foul odor around the camp and wood knocks shortly afterward, then left at sunrise.

The witness was walking alone in thick woods carrying a BB gun late in the morning. The witness noticed a brown-colored subject moving very fast at an angle across the view, first thinking it was a person on a dirt bike. The witness then realized there was no engine noise, only the sound of breaking sticks, and left the area quickly without telling anyone at the time.

In August 1981 the witness rode a motorcycle up forest roads to a high peak near the North Fork. Near the treeline he uncovered a large old barefoot-like track and later from the summit saw a head-and-shoulders shadow watching from the dark treeline. The shape was gone when he looked back after viewing the panorama, and he rode quickly back down the mountain.

In late June or early July 1981, the witness was sleeping on the floor of a friend's home when awakened by an unusual humming and grumbling sound. She saw the outline of a large broad-shouldered figure with a muscular arm and hand cupped to look through a high upper window, which she estimated would require at least seven feet of height. The figure looked in for about a minute, then walked around the house into the woods as the humming resumed. A search the next morning found no tracks in the hard-packed dirt.

The witness, then a child sleeping in a cabin, claims to have been awakened around 2 a.m. by a deep sneeze-like sound and a strong foul odor. A very large monkey-like head peered into the bedroom window, blocking the light, with huge eyes, a large flat nose, little facial hair and deep nasal breathing. The witness whimpered, the mother entered and the figure left; in the morning plowed vegetation and footprints were reportedly seen.

The witness drove to a seldom-crowded park with falls midday and sat on a picnic table. After about a minute, the witness turned and saw a furry figure about six feet away, visible from the waist up above a drop-off. Frozen in fear, the witness could not warn a passing group, then ran to the nearby car and has not returned to the park.

At about age 10 the witness and a friend left a backyard tent around 1-2 AM to go to a store. Under a streetlight they saw a massive hairy profile walk out of a park and pass within arm's reach into a field. They froze, then fled home and stayed in the tent until noon.

A tall dark hairy creature stood up, made ticking teeth sounds, and walked toward the woods as a strong musky odor was noticed. The witness drove to town to report it and was later turned away by state police who had cordoned off the area.

Four witnesses walking upstream along a creek heard rustling that kept pace with them from across the water. They then saw a hair-covered face peering at them through bushes a short distance away, which appeared two more times as they continued. Frightened by being followed and by the creek ending in a swamp ahead, they ran back to camp and later told their parents.

The witness and his girlfriend were driving east at night to look for deer when they noticed a figure walking west in a ditch beside the road. Because the ditch was about five feet below the roadway, they estimated the figure to be eight to nine feet tall. They described it as dark with wide shoulders moving easily through the ditch. They did not stop for a closer look and instead took a longer route back.

Around mid-summer 1981, the witness was riding a bicycle home in the early morning hours ahead of a companion. Near an intersection he looked back and saw a whitish object moving quickly from one side of a barbed-wire fence to the other into woods, knocking branches aside. He did not get a clear view and first thought of a horse, but on revisiting the site the next day concluded a horse could not have moved that way through the dense cover.
